One night. All in one night. Stormy and unreal. In the best noir tradition. A shot breaks the silence: a man wanders confused between the bush, he is stopped by a group of policemen, and found undocumented, take him to the police: it must specify its identity and to answer some routine questions, a bureaucratic formality.
The scene paints a damp and dilapidated. A fireplace, a window, a few chairs. Water. Rain percolating everywhere, relentless. How inexorable reveals the fate of suspected onoff. Onoff the novelist who ends up in this Kafkaesque vortex of memory is no solution. The questioning soon turned into an attempt by the commissioner to nail to its responsibilities, the protagonist, who is accused of a murder that occurred during the night.
onoff consciousness is trapped in a kind of metaphysical limbo for a night before being transferred somewhere else undefined. At dawn, the rain stopped and the light penetrates the enigma of melting in an ascension that is cathartic for the character and the scene, sweeping away all shadows and unfortunate existential questions.
The story is interpreted as the symbolic and metaphysical description of a moment of transition, similar to the moment between sleep and waking, which has some awareness, but that is unknowable and elusive to the logic of our mind: a kind of purgatory Dante linked to the ritual cleansing of the soul after death, where the water is 'main element, essential and ongoing.
The development of the stage is assigned to lines, dots and geometric shapes.
Geometry-symbol, then, geometry-archetype. Geometry-geography. A place-names of the places of the mind in which the four characters of the show move giving rise to new lines, junctions, complexity.
